Does Your Name Reveal Your Generation? A Look at Popular Names

In my 8-person suite at the college dorm we had a James Michael [lastname] who went by Mike and a David Michael [lastname], so that David couldn't change to Mike because Mike already pulled that trick. The names David, Mike, John, and Steve dominated my youth, as did Sue, and Kathy. Does this reveal my generation?
