The Impact of Common Names: My Journey from David to Miles

So, on the topic of common names - "Miles" is my middle name. My legal first name is David. I changed to Miles one week into my freshman year in college when I met 32 other Davids. Oh, and I know at least 3 other David Goldsteins: one (David B) from summer camp as a kid, one (David Michael) as one of the 32 as a freshman, and one (David Mark) whom I hired many years ago. In all that time I've only crossed paths with two other guys named Miles.
