this one was reposted yesterday and has been floating for a few months https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/empower%20finance/8fa96217-1a47-462e-a691-abb950b1f693
They also have a separate director role up. Unclear if these are the same role, who reports to who, or what the deal is
mmhm
Steer clear! They approached me with one of these (the director of support one, although they were calling it success at the time) before any JDs were listed and I went through 4 rounds of interviews which I believe were just research to inform range and such. So the success/support one goes up a day before my last interview with their team and I knew at that point it wasn't gonna be a go. Fast forward a week and this one goes up, which I believe is a replacement of the HM I interviewed with (LI still shows her at the company but unclear). I should also mention that my biggest flag while interviewing is that they murky about the scope of the role, sometimes telling me it would manage one of two teams, sometimes saying it would be both but not with a clear timeline to take it over or knowledge of who exactly I would report to.
Thanks Sophie, so good to know.
I’ve had a few interviews like this, so annoying
Ok the cherry on top is that I checked my bank statement today and they're still charging me for their product, whose app I downloaded to prepare for these phony interviews. When I signed up I connected my bank so I could demo it, but never consented to their subscription and was under the impression I hadn't fully set up things in a way where I would be charged. And I say still because I flagged this to their team a couple weeks ago and was assured that my data was deleted and I wouldn't be charged again, but here we are. Major bullet dodged not managing that team.
yikes
I wanna like livestream the interaction I'm having with their support team right now. They can't even issue a refund and cancel a subscription without dozens of back and forth emails and requests for specific banking info they should not need to return $8.
I poked around Reddit about them when those jobs popped up and most of the threads are about fighting with support to revoke ACH authorization. 🥴
^ Sounds like that's where I've landed. Which is sad since like I only got the app to prepare to do multiple interviews for a job I didn't even apply for. It really seems like a sus place through and through and I'm so glad this will be my only experience dealign with their support team.
