It's purposefully very repetitive and difficult to keep all of the characters straight, but I'm enjoying it so far. If you like Vonnegut, youāll probably like Catch 22
I'm still on my quest to read every book on my shelf that I haven't read, going in alphabetical order by author. (31 down!)
Currently reading Catch-22 (which I apparently read half of in 2007 and never finished) and working my way through The Complete Fiction by H.P. Lovecraft as my project book.
I've had two interviews in the past couple of weeks where the recruiter's eyes lit up when I said I knew how webhooks and APIs worked in context of support tooling systems. It's definitely a thing!
I've seen a couple of these roles pop up lately. For better or for worse, I think the AI Agent Manager is going to very quickly overtake what we called "Customer Support Technology" engineers at Postmates (if it hasn't already!).
This is pretty interesting and certainly feels accurate (though, the study is an N of 1, so take that with a grain of salt). I've definitely noticed a shift of insularity and reduction in socialization as "let me just use AI to get some more work done" fills those gaps: https://hbr.org/2026/02/ai-doesnt-reduce-work-it-intensifies-it
Congrats on having the conviction to build something cool! I always admired how hard you guys worked on trying to do it the right way, even if it didn't ultimately work out. Onwards and upwards.
