Hey friends, bit niche but I made a thing! If you're using both Help Scout and Laravel, I made two packages: Help Scout Sidebar: show your customer/user data in the HS sidebar, so your support agents always have the most relevant data at their fingertips. I wrote this for myself, mostly 😄 Help Scout Beacon: quick and easy way to integrate Beacon into your Laravel application. I'm trying to get a dev portfolio started and wanted to make something that combines both my CS experience and my dev nerdiness. Let me know if you end up using it!
As a new Laravel/PHP fanboy: excellent choice of stack 🙌🏽
Thank you thank you!
Laravel is my favorite framework to work with, I love it
I converted about a year and a half ago after (rightfully at the time, imo) talking shit about PHP for like a decade. Laravel is the perfect framework. It's mind blowing how good it is. My personal consultancy basically only uses it unless there's a compelling reason not to.
And now that Laravel Cloud has scale to 0 on everything with ~0 config I've been running my own side projects/client apps for ~pennies
SAME. I come from a die-hard WordPress background so PHP has always been my foundation, but I was swayed by React a couple of years ago. The Laravel + React combo is like a double whammy
I'm even all in on Livewire! PHP 8 brought me around to PHP as a pretty ideal language for web dev
I hate react deeply 😂 but that's my own stuff. Inertia is great and Svelte/Vue work insanely well so I'm happy
I mean, everything makes you curse "WHY ARE YOU NOT WORKING" at your screen at least once or twice
But yeah, if you haven't played with Livewire recently I'd also recommend that. The TALL stack really shines in this LLM-assisted world lol
I'll have a poke at it, for sure!
I'm mostly tinkering with portfolio projects at the minute
