Thinking about CX Appreciation Week. Keep it real with me friends, would a Masterclass membership be a good gift? Some of my team has expressed not wanting a lot of swag type stuff, so I am trying to come up with a non-gift card idea that could actually feel helpful. Any other ideas would be welcome too!
might be good for someone who wants and will use it
Yea, we do all of our gifts as opt in, just so folks don't feel burdened by whatever it is, should they not want it. If you have any suggestions of types of things that have been well received by your teams, i'd love to hear it.
for my team members who want learning & prof dev stuff, i really love lifelabs. great sessions for professional development.
my teams have preferred experiential things 🫠which i know doesn’t work for everyone, especially if you’re 100% remote, but if you’re not, i’ve often made cx appreciation week a team event and built a week around doing stuff together. but that obvs only works if they’re into that.
Those are some good recommendations. We are fully remote, so that definitely makes things tricky.
i’ve done giftcards for their favorite local places, bookstores, etc. i’ve had folks on my team who don’t feel appreciated when you give them prof dev things, especially if growth isn’t on their mind. it feels like you’re telling them to do their job better, in appreciation for their work, even if that’s obvs not your intention. i’ve bought things for people’s pets, things that align with their hobbies, etc.
That's where my head was at with Masterclass. Like if people want to use it to lean into work topics, cool, but if not there is a bunch of hobby / self improvement type things that might be of interest. The finance team where I work restricts us from providing gift cards so they're not making it easy either.
