Deel is a little weird in that they do Payroll/HR but they also do, like, BPO work

Or at least they'll allow you to hire BPO workers, but through them and not your own company

It's an odd setup I don't entirely understand

But I've run into a fair amount of Deel Support folks at various companies

We use them as our "Employer of Record" so we can hire folks wherever and they handle all the paperwork. It's difficult to hire folks in some countries (Italy being one of them) without some sort of legal setup, which Deel provides.

Labor laws are confusing and difficult for remote companies. Deel has been great to work with. They've never tried to steal our IP via bathroom shenanigans, though.

Look. I work from home. If someone is sneaking into my bathroom to steal corporate intellectual property, I'd rather not know. Just do what you need to do and get out. Less work for me.

Love to have a policy about what to do if a customer threatens to show up at your office and do violence, very normal, very cool

We have data scientists from Amazon who inform how we get around their AI search. I also hate tech and would prefer to make 6 figures feeding people or puttering in my garden

yes, we had to have them for showing up at people’s homes. there was a user who showed up to the CEO’s house twice.

Also had a process for calling the authorities when people used our live chat to describe how they were going to unalive themselves. Not traumatic at all for anyone

I find it important to remember the level to which I enjoy this sort of corporate espionage drama , whenever I am tempted to disparage reality TV watchers
